Hellllo! My name is Winston and I’m a 5 year old English Bulldog with a side-winding tongue that blows in the wind I’m 53 pounds but I carry it well and most people would guess I weigh less.
One of the 1st things you might notice about me is that my tongue seems to have a life of its own and most people think it makes me extra adorable! Foster mom discovered that it makes me a messy eater and drinker. She jokes that I paint the walls with slobber art
I LOVE spending time running around the yard with a ball or following the robot mower to get my steps in. I also love to play a game where I run away from my foster mom when she thinks it’s time to come inside. She doesn’t understand the game, she is supposed to chase me! Instead, she goes inside so then I go inside too because it’s not as fun being outside alone. I’d really like to have a fenced yard in my new home.
I have a room in the house that’s all mine right now. I am content when left alone and I have been a perfect house guest (no destructive chewing, barking, or annoying things
I’m told other dogs do!). My foster mom seems pretty impressed that I’m potty trained and have not had a single accident in the house. I also sleep through the night and wait for everyone to get up in the morning. She says I’m a gem, whatever that means.
I get to hang out with the three resident pups here and we are figuring each other out. I’d be just fine with another dog in my forever home. I can be a bit of a bulldozer though- stepping on snoozing pets on the couch, flying at you in the yard or pushing my way through gates if there is somewhere new I want to explore. I am just excited about this new chapter of life! I’m pretty good at catching onto corrections though, so apparently we are working on things.
My foster mom is taking care of my eyes, bathing my itchy skin and I have a very bad ear that will need surgery. Once I’ve recovered from surgery, I’ll be ready to meet my forever people! I am so thankful that Chicago English Bulldog Rescue is taking care of my medical needs that have been going on for some time. I absolutely love people, but I’m sure that you’re going to be my favorite! I will sit at your feet and soak up snuggles. I’ll give you my paw and hope you will hold it forever. The main thing is I just want to find a forever family that I can give my love to. -Winston
