Super-Hunky Dunky Monkey!
Howdy! My name is Duncan. Wanna be my friend? I’m a 56 pound English Bully boy, and everybody around me says that I’m really handsome. I’m not great at counting, but the humans seem to think that I’m about two years old.
I just had some surgery done on my double cherry eyes and also was neutered. I recovered really well, and I am very understanding about humans and their ideas about how things need to be done, but cones are NOT my thing. Ear cleaning...fine. Eye ointment...fine. I draw the line at cones! My tail pocket is tight, so my foster mom and dad are always cleaning my tail when I’m done going potty. I put up with it because I’m just chill like that.
Life has been good since CEBR brought me in. I’ve started to show my personality and plenty of what the humans call puppy energy. I am NOT your typical bulldog. Sure, I have an adorable squishy face, but I love to run. When I can sense it is time to go out for a jaunt, I get SOOOOO excited. I like to test my humans by making it really hard to get my harness on. I don’t mind having it on. I just like to see them work for it. My favorite maneuver is to get hold of the harness in my mouth and not let go.
Am I trained, you ask? Well, my humans are trained to get me what I need when I ask for it. I’ll sit for my breakfast and dinner, but I don’t know any fancy commands yet.
Sometimes I think it is okay to go potty inside. I mean, it only happens once in a while, and I don’t like to interrupt the humans with my demands, so I just quietly take care of my business. My foster parents tell me this isn’t their favorite, and I tell them that I’ll go outside and take care of business if you take me out there regularly. Don’t forget to clean my tail pocket after please.
At my foster house, I live between two other dogs. I love to make friends...human and dog alike. I especially like the pit bull on one side. So far, we’ve only been allowed to play with a fence between us, but we have a great time. When I go to the park, I always try to introduce myself to other dogs. I make friends everywhere I go.
My perfect forever home would have lots of opportunities to be social...with humans and other dogs. I’d really like my new family to be patient with me, but consistent with my care and potty breaks!
Thanks for reading my story. I know I might come on strong, but I hope you can look past that. I KNOW that we’ll be fast friends if you give me a chance.
