I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Hi! My Name Is Oso

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

Hi! My name is Oso! I was recently surrendered by my owner – not for anything bad, I just didn’t care for some of the other dogs in the home. I am about 2 years old! My foster family says I am a bit of a clingy guy – but my foster mom says, “He’s just a baby!”

As I mentioned, I’m a bit clingy – I have a bit of FOMO and just want someone around. BUT… If I cry and no one responds, it doesn’t last long, and I just go on my way hanging out on my own. I love ear scratches, belly rubs, walks, and a good noisy snooze. What’s a noisy snooze, you ask? Well, when I’m really in the snooze zone, I tend to snore ALOT. I’m a handsome brown brindle and around 62 pounds – but I’m kind of low to the ground, so that 62 pounds is SOLID. I like a good chew toy but am not that interested in fetch (yet?). I’m not too aggressive about toys- I don’t always like them being taken away, but I don’t get mean about it. I came in with an eye infection and don’t fuss too much when my ointment is applied. I’ll be getting my double cherry eyes fixed soon, and then you’ll be able to fully see my beautiful brown eyes!

I spend the day roaming free, but definitely like hanging out on the couch – especially if YOU’RE on it, too! At night, I sleep in a crate and am usually crated if everyone is gone from the house, which is rare here. I don’t mind, and sometimes I hang out there when I’m just alone downstairs. I live with two canine foster sibs – Coconut and Lawrence. Coconut and I have peacefully hung out – I am apparently a little too nosy for her, but she put me in my place and I respect her space now. Lawrence is intimidated by me and gets a little feisty – but I behave myself and just stayed clear of him after that, even though I’m so much bigger than him. I have met dogs on walks and I’m interested but not aggressive. One of the things my foster family is working on is introductions to new people or dogs – I tend to bark A LOT when I encounter new people. It can sound pretty scary, but I never DO anything, just make a lot of noise. My foster family is trying to figure out the best way for me to meet new people – because once I get used to you, we are best friends!

I’m pretty well potty trained – I even go to the patio door when I want to go outside! I don’t bark at the door, but my foster fam has a bell that I usually bump when I get there. I pee outside with no issue, but sometimes I need a short “poop walk” to get things moving!

I’ve only been around older (13+) kids and I do just fine, as long as no one is too noisy. Sometimes I like to throw paws when I’m playing, but I don’t get too crazy – I usually wind up rolling around on the ground getting a belly rub! My current yard is not fenced in, so I get walked outside for potty. I’ve gone off my leash, but people and dogs bring out the sprinter in me, so now I get walked or hooked up to a long lead outside.

I’m a good boy, but I need someone with bulldog experience to help make sure that I continue to grow into a happy and well adjusted pup. I’m a big boy, but a good listener, so I’ll thrive with some training! -Love ya! Oso
