Hello Friends! My name is Maisie! I am a three year old brindle Olde English Bulldog girl who is just beginning to explore the world for the first time. Prior to my second chance at life I was living in a commercial breeding facility. I wasn't given many toys or treats, never taught any tricks or how to be a dog. The vet says I had at least two litters of puppies.
I was very timid and shy coming into my foster home. I just stayed in the corner on the floor. But it's ok now because I have a new outlook on life! I have learned very quickly that treats are GOOD and I will always run up when my foster brother is being given one. Yes ladies and gents, I have a foster brother and he is a nuisance! He follows me around everywhere and tries sniffing me even when I sleep! I don't mind though, I’m very patient with him. Even when dogs walk up to me on a walk no problem! My foster mom says I don't have a mean bone in my body.
I am being shown a ton of love and affection and I give it right back! There is nothing that I love to do more than cuddle up with my human and snuggle on the couch. Speaking of my humans, they say I am a super fast learner. When they first met me I couldn't use the stairs or even knew what a leash was, I never had used either before! But I am a smartypants and by day 4 I was climbing up and down the stairs no problem! It only took me about a week to become nearly potty trained too! I am starting to understand the purpose of what my foster parents call "toys" and quite enjoy them. And now that I know what a leash is for I can say for certainty walks are super fun!
I have made a lot of progress since starting my new life but I am still rather timid. It takes me a little bit to warm up to people and if someone approaches I run away. Loud sudden noises make me jump (but I am doing better with that per my foster parents). I need a family who has a lot of patience and understanding. The important thing to remember is that I am making progress and, no matter how scared I get, I have never shown any signs of being mean. I also can be funny. The other day my foster parents were cracking up saying I reminded them of Scooby Doo as I ran away. Don't really get the joke but I gotta run, I see my foster brother getting a treat but before I run let me just say: If you're looking for a super sweet and loving girl who loves to cuddle and will make you laugh as I run away like Scooby Doo I am your gal!
