Hi, I’m Buddy! What's your favorite color? I was found on the streets of Chicago looking for the World’s Best Cup of Coffee, and found it at my Foster Family’s House! We really don’t know too much about me. What we know has been pieced together by my foster family and my new friend, the vet. I’m probably about 3 years old, and I’m small for a bully weighing in at a svelte 44 lbs.
Someone took the time to teach me basic obedience skills like sit, touch and down (although down takes some coaxing). I am housebroken and have not had any accidents in the house! I don’t have any “tells” for when I need to go out to potty other than barking (but I do tend to bark).
In my previous life, I must have been on lots of car rides. I LOVE car rides! I am an EXCELLENT co-pilot! When I first meet new people I can be a bit of an “angry elf.” I am pretty nervous and do not like to be touched on my head, so it is best to approach me on my level. I get over my nervousness very quickly and love to cuddle. I do not like to be alone and am not a fan of being in my kennel. When I am left alone for long, I spread Christmas joy for all to hear by barking loudly! I want to be with my people all of the time.
Unfortunately we do have some challenges that we are working on to keep me off the dreaded naughty list. I have some reactivity with my foster sister so I still have to be kept separate from her. I’d probably be happier as an only dog. I’m pretty busy- always in motion. I’m still trying to figure out my feelings about cats but for now I just observe them from afar.
I’m off to watch for my friend Santa (I know him you know)! I am sure he is going to bring me all the best new squeaky toys!!! I will be sure to alert everyone when he arrives! -Buddy
