Hi! My name is Milkshake and I am the best friend that you never knew that you needed. I will protect you from all sorts of dangers – blenders, kids on scooters, small fluffy dogs… My top priority is keeping you safe and making sure that you know I love you! I am not clingy in an anxious way, I just really, really think that your life will be better with me on your lap or immediately by your side.
I am a petite little bully girl, between 1 - 2 years old, and about 40 pounds. My foster mom has been working hard to get me to gain some more muscle and weight, and I’ve gained nearly 10lbs already! While I absolutely love carbs – they turn me pink like a piggy and very itchy! Even the fancy ancient grains. So it’s grain and chicken free for me for sure. I have some other allergies that my foster mom and vet are trying to figure out but I am doing much better than when I first arrived.
Right now I am living with my foster sister Cookie who is a bit of a nut. Her barking really works me up, plus I’m not sure that I like the idea of sharing toys with someone else. My foster mom thinks that I might do fine in a house with a calm, older dog but I would also be very happy to be the only dog in the home. I also live with two crazy cats, I don’t mind them but I do occasionally like to make them run by jumping at them sometimes.
If there is one thing I hate it is a crate. Please don’t put me in a cage, it makes me very angry and sad and I hate it. But, no worries, I do just fine sleeping on my dog beds and my foster family uses a gate to keep me in the kitchen when they are out for more than an hour or two. My potty training is going well too, a few accidents here and there but I’m learning that if I stand by the door these humans will let me out to go potty. Just don’t make me go out it the rain!
I absolutely love to go on walks and car drives. Like I said, wherever you are is where I want to be! I don’t seem to have much experience and so I do need to learn some manners. Silly pedestrians and other dogs don’t seem to like my direct approach to their faces but I mean well. I also love a good game of tug and a nice bubble bath and being brushed. I am also learning about these soft and squeaky things called “toys.” They are so fun and I hope my forever family buys me lots of them!
