Hi there! My name is Spike, and I’m a 12 year old bulldog guy. Unfortunately, I somehow ended up at an animal shelter at my ripe old age. Let me tell you, that is no place for a senior citizen! Luckily CEBR got word that I was there and swooped in to save me. They told me that I’ll NEVER be in a position like that again, and that I’ll be a “foster dog” here forever- lucky me!
I guess I have bad teeth, and needed to gain some weight when I got here (and I agree)! My forever foster parents are giving me some great high protein food and supplements, and my ribs are no longer visible. Isn’t that great?! I also get some eye drops in one of my eyes. I’m so lucky to be getting such good love and care in my retirement.
You would never know that I have arthritis in my front legs, or that my front legs turn outward because I walk so amazingly well, and I can jump up on chairs or the couch whenever I want. I’m also great at going potty outside and I sleep all night on the comfy couch. My forever foster parents say that the absolute best thing about me is my loving and affectionate personality. I love to have my head, ear, and belly rubbed by people. I like to follow my people around like a shadow and I wait for them to come home happily. I also love to play fetch with my favorite squeaky toy, and to play with my forever foster sister, alum Little Debbie. I’m so glad that I am safe and being taken care of so well now thanks to CEBR. -Spike
