Hi y’all! I’m Teddy B and I’ve been with Chicago English Bulldog Rescue for over a year, getting healthier every day. I was found wandering the streets in September of 2023 in extremely bad shape (see phone #1). CEBR saw my sad eyes, scooped me right up and got me the medical attention that I desperately needed. The dog-tors told me I have something called pemphigus, an autoimmune disease that caused me to be covered all over with oozing sores, and also to have internal problems like anemia. I was also malnourished from fending for myself on the streets (not a great place for a pup with special medical needs like me!).
It's been a long journey with a lot of ups and downs, but I’m excited to tell my CEBR friends that I am now finally in full remission! Once I was healthy enough, I had successful surgery this summer to correct my cherry eye. Now I’m looking and feeling great! I do still have some ear issues which may also require surgery someday, but I’m so grateful to have a great team at CEBR making sure I get all of the best care.
Throughout this ordeal, my foster momma says I have shown her my indomitable spirit. Now that I feel good, I really just love everything and everyone! Nature has been a source of healing for this me: I absolutely adore my daily walks in the forest preserve and sunning myself on a picnic table after my walks. Things are looking bright for the amazing Teddy B thanks to CEBR and all of the heard work of my foster momma. In fact, she loves me so much that she’s adopting me!
